Paper Tacos® is a fast-growing, Latino-inspired greeting card brand featured on Shark Tank. Our cards bring cultura, humor, and heart to grocery stores across California and beyond. We’re looking for a reliable, independent Merchandiser to keep our card displays stocked and looking great in the San Diego area.
Job Summary
This is a flexible, part-time 1099 contractor role servicing greeting card displays in local grocery stores. You’ll receive product delivered directly to your home, take it to assigned stores, restock the display, and keep everything organized according to a provided planogram.
Perfect for someone who enjoys independent work, light organizing, and setting their own schedule.
Responsibilities
- Visit assigned stores 1–2 times per month (frequency varies).
- Restock and merchandise greeting card displays (24-pocket, 48-pocket, or inline racks).
- Keep displays clean, full, and visually organized.
- Rotate seasonal products and remove discontinued items as needed.
- Receive card shipments at your home and bring product to each store.
- Count cards and document inventory levels.
- Submit simple visit reports with photos via phone.
- Communicate any store issues such as missing racks, low inventory, or fixture concerns.
Requirements
- Must live in the San Diego area and be able to service stores within a 20-mile radius.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs (small boxes of greeting cards).
- Comfortable using a smartphone for photos and reporting.
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Prior merchandising or grocery/retail experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must be comfortable working as a 1099 Independent Contractor.
Pay
- $30 per store visit
- Monthly contractor payment based on completed visits
- Additional pay for seasonal resets or special projects may be available
Schedule
- Flexible — visits can be completed during normal store hours
- Estimated 3–6 hours per week, depending on assigned stores
